Dead Äire is a 4-piece rock band fronted by longtime radio veterans Jim Monaghan (WDHA, WNEW-FM) on guitar and Tom Kaminski (WCBS Chopper 880, now flying for ABC7 Eyewitness News) on drums. (The name is a tongue-in-cheek reference to their respective radio careers.) On bass, our longtime friend and collaborator Mike Trinker is an Emmy Award winning graphic artist for NBC Sports. Our newest member, Mike Fornatale, whose name is spelled correctly here, has played lead guitar and sung with The Left Banke, Mark Lindsay (former lead singer of Paul Revere and the Raiders) Moby Grape, The Washington Squares, and The Losers’ Lounge.

Dead Äire has performed at the Stone Pony as the opening act for the Smithereens and for the Eddie Testa Band. Other venues have been the Wonder Bar, Crossroads in Garwood opening for national recording artist Richard Lloyd, the NJ Festival of Ballooning, the Light of Day shows in Asbury Park, the Madison NJ Bottle Hill Day Festival, and Sweet Vinyl Cafe in Denville where they were joined by national recording artist Deni Bonet on violin. We’ve also been joined on stage by Jim Babjak and Marshall Crenshaw for a Pat DiNizio tribute show that benefited the Light Of Day Foundation.
